Phil Bissett

Phillip Douglas Bissett (born September 11, 1956) is an American politician and a Republican candidate for Anne Arundel County Executive in the 2006 election.

Bissett is a lifelong resident of Edgewater, Maryland. He served as a member of the Maryland House of Delegates (19911999) as a member of the Judiciary Committee. He was also the first Republican chairman of the Anne Arundel County Delegation.

Bissett was the Republican nominee for County Executive in 2002, losing a close rase to Janet S. Owens despite being outspent 6-to-1.

Bissett has been appointed by Governor Bob Ehrlich to be the Director of Maryland's MARC Train System.
