Priest Rapids Dam

Priest Rapids Dam is a hydroelectric project located on the Columbia River between the Yakima Firing Range and the Hanford Nuclear Reservation. It is owned by the Grant County, Washington Public Utility District .

Completed in 1959, the Priest Rapids Dam was the first dam on the Columbia River above the confluence of the Snake River, below the Grand Coulee Dam. It is located at mile marker 397.1 and is a concrete gravity type dam. Its reservoir is named Priest Rapids Lake.
