Richard Fitzalan, 8th Earl of Arundel

Richard Fitzalan, 8th Earl of Arundel (February 3, 1266/7-March 9, 1301/2) was an English nobleman. He was feudal Lord of Clun and Oswestry. After attaining his majority in 1289 became in fact Earl of Arundel, by being summoned to Parliament by a writ directed to the Earl of Arundel. He was knighted by King Edward I of England in 1289. He fought in the Welsh wars, 1288; in Gascony 1295-97; and in the Scottish wars, 1298-1300.

He married before 1285 to Alasia of Saluzzo (also known as Alice), daughter of Thomas I of Saluzzo in Italy. Their children were:

  1. Edmund Fitzalan, 9th Earl of Arundel.
  2. Alice Fitzalan, married Stephen de Segrave, 3rd Lord Segrave
  3. Margaret Fitzalan, married William Botiler
