Richard Hoare

Sir Richard Hoare (16486 January 1718), was a goldsmith, banker and politician. He founded his smith on Lombard Street, London in 1673. He moved to Fleet Street in 1693, where he founded the bank that still bears his name, and is England's oldest privately owned bank: C. Hoare & Co . Hoare was elected as Lord Mayor of London in 1712.
