Richard Thieme

Richard Thieme (born 1944), is a noted business consultant, author, media commentator and speaker. Focusing on issues related the Internet, cyber-culture and technology in general, Mr. Thieme delves into many of the issues "behind the issues" that exist in the online world.

Biography

Richard Thieme was born in Chicago. He was a student at Northwestern University and graduated in 1965 with a B.A. in English literature. Later, he attended the University of Illinois-Chicago and received his M.A. in English literature. Mr. Thieme spent two years in England and then attended Seabury-Western Theological Seminary where he earned his Masters degree and became an Episcopal priest.

Mr. Thieme was a priest for 16 years. During that time, he became acquainted with computers. He began writing about technology and culture, including aspects of spirituality into his views. After the growth of the Internet, his ideas, writings and work bore new relevance and, in 1993, he began a new career of consulting, writing and speaking.
