Salmanazar

A Salmanazar is the name given to an over-sized bottle of French wine consisting of 12 standard bottles (8 litres), particularly used in reference to bottles of Champagne of that size.

The name is derived from Shalmaneser, an Assyrian king mentioned in the Second Book of Kings in The Bible.
