Splash Mountain

Splash Mountain is an attraction at Disneyland in Anaheim, California, and opened on July 17, 1989; at Walt Disney World's Magic Kingdom in Lake Buena Vista, Florida, and opened on July 17, 1992; and at Tokyo Disneyland in Urayasu, Chiba, Japan in October, 1992.

The attraction is based on the controversial Disney film Song of the South. The attraction does not feature anything that would be controversial like the film. Each Splash Mountain features a 52-and-a-half foot drop into the Briar Patch. Splash Mountain was designed to include songs from Song of the South such as Zip-A-Dee-Doo-Da.
