Squealer is a fictional pig from George Orwell's Animal Farm.

Squealer was a close companion of Napoleon. He served mainly as Napoleon's "propaganda minister". When the animals suspected that the pigs were breaking the laws, Squealer justified their actions. For instance, when the other animals wanted to have the milk and apples, Squealer said that milk and apples help the pigs think; so, eating the apples and drinking milk would prevent Mr. Jones from returning.

Throughout the book, Napoleon and Squealer break the Seven Commandments. To prevent the animals from suspecting this, Squealer preyed on the animals' stupidity and altered the Commandments. Orwell used Squealer to mainly show how some governments and politicians use propaganda to get their ideas through.
