Sint-Truiden

Sint-Truiden (also Saint-Trond) is a municipality located in the Belgian province of Limburg, near the town of Hasselt and Tongeren (Tongres). On January 1st, 2004 Sint-Truiden had a total population of 37,722 (18,582 males and 19,140 females). The total area is 106.90 km² which gives a population density of 352.88 inhabitants per km².

The municipality formed around an abbey founded by St. Trudo in the 1600s. It is now noted for a 13th-century Beguinage church and the 15th-century Church of Notre Dame.

A famous football club is based in Sint-Truiden : K. Sint-Truidense V.V.
