Stand can mean several things:

• A stand, when referring to an object is an object that supports another object, usually for display purposes. See base, armature.
• A stand is also a group of one species of tree in the midst of, but separate from a group of another type of tree.
• Stand! was the fourth album by Sly & the Family Stone; their most successful and considered among their best work. "Stand!" is also the title of that album's second single.
• "Stand " is a song and hit single by R.E.M. from the album Green.
• Stand, the teen-oriented anti-tobacco group based in Ohio, the website for which is www.standonline.org. "Stand" is short for "Stand up, speak out against tobacco."
