Starting Over is a 1979 film which tells the story of a man who is torn between his new girlfriend and his ex-wife. It stars Burt Reynolds, Jill Clayburgh, Candice Bergen, Charles Durning, Frances Sternhagen , Austin Pendleton and Mary Kay Place.
The movie was adapted by James L. Brooks from the novel by Dan Wakefield . It was directed by Alan J. Pakula.
It was nominated for Academy Awards for Best Actress in a Leading Role (Jill Clayburgh) and Best Actress in a Supporting Role (Candice Bergen).
