Stephen Collins (born October 1, 1947) is an American actor. He is probably best known for his role as Reverend Eric Camden on the television series 7th Heaven.
He was born in Des Moines, Iowa and raised in Hastings-on-Hudson, New York. At Amherst College he graduated cum laude. He is also the author of two novels: Eye Contact (1994) and Double Exposure (1998).
He is married to actress Faye Grant.
Although he plays a pastor on the television series 7th Heaven, he is actually Jewish.
