Stephen Timms

Stephen Creswell Timms (born 29 July 1955) is a politician in the United Kingdom. He is Labour Party member of Parliament for East Ham, and was first elected in a by-election in 1994.

He was a Minister of State at the Department of Trade and Industry, minister of state for e-commerce and competitiveness, and became Financial Secretary to the Treasury on 9th September 2004, replacing Ruth Kelly. He had previously been leader of Newham Council.
