Strand is a seaside resort town situated on the edge of False Bay between Maccasser and Gordons Bay about 50 km west of Cape Town (now part of the city itself) and 10 km away from the inland town of Somerset West in the Western Cape Province of South Africa.

It has great views of the Cape Peninsula. During summers tourists from inland , mainly Johannesburg flock the area bringing the towns most financial income.strand
