Stripes (film)

Stripes (1981) is an American comedic movie starring Bill Murray, Harold Ramis, and Warren Oates. The director was Ivan Reitman.

Stripes also featured several (later quite noted) actors' first significant movie roles, including John Larroquette, Sean Young, and Judge Reinhold. It also was one of John Candy's earliest appearances.

The movie is "dated" in some ways, as it is set in Cold War Europe, but the humor is generally based on broader concepts that are still amusing.

One thing that makes the movie distinctive, is that it is sort of two movies in one; the first part is set in boot camp, while the latter part shows their first mission.
