The Student Christian Movement (SCM) has fostered liberal and progressive religious and social views amongst university students since 1889 and has been associated with the social gospel and Christian socialist movements and is generally part of the Christian left.
SCM, the traditional name for the organisation's individual bodies in the English-speaking world, has an international umbrella-organisation: the World Student Christian Federation (WSCF).
The Canadian section of the SCM was founded by James Gareth Endicott.
