Student newspaper

A student newspaper is a newspaper run by university or high or middle school students that covers local and in particular school/university news.

Working for one's school high school newspaper is sometimes an extracurricular activity but often a Journalism class is taught at the school, in which students learn about the journalistic profession and also produce the paper. Some schools have a basic class in which students only learn about newpapering, and a class that produces the newspaper.

The UK's most famous student newspaper is Varsity, the student newspaper of Cambridge University. Its former editors include Jeremy Paxman, Richard Whiteley, Michael Winner and Luke Layfield.
