Stura di Demonte is a river in north-western Italy (Piedmont). It is a tributary to the river Tanaro , which is a tributary of the river Po. Its source is in the Alps, near the border with France. It flows through Demonte and Cuneo before meeting the Tanaro near Bra.
Stura di Lanzo
Stura di Lanzo is a river in north-western Italy (Piedmont). It is a tributary to the river Po. It is formed from several tributaries near Lanzo Torinese . It flows into the river Po in Turin.
Département de la Stura
Stura was also a département of the First French Empire in present Italy. It was named after the river Stura di Demonte. It was formed in 1802, when Napoleon Bonaparte occupied the Kingdom of Sardinia. Its capital was Cuneo. It was divided into the arrondissements of Cuneo, Alba, Mondovi, Saluzzo, and Savigliano . It was disbanded after the defeat of Napoleon in 1814. Its territory corresponds more or less with that of the present Italian province of Cuneo.
