Suita, Osaka


Suita (吹田市; -shi) is a city located in northern Osaka Prefecture, Japan. It is connected to central Osaka by the Hankyu Railway and by JR's Kyoto Line.

As of 2003, the city has an estimated population of 351,887 and the density of 9,744.86 persons per km². The total area is 36.11 km².

Suita houses the main campus of Kansai University as well as a branch of Osaka University.

The city was founded on April 1, 1940.
