Sukhona River

Sukhona (Сухона) is a river in the European part of Russia, tributary to the Northern Dvina. Its length is 580 km. Its source is the Kubena Lake , in Vologda Oblast, near Vologda. It flows roughly in north-eastern direction. Towns on the river Sukhona include Sokol and Totma . The Sukhona joins the river Yug in Veliki Ustyug , thus forming the Northern Dvina.
