In 2003, Metallica toured to promote their latest album, St. Anger. On this tour were:

• Linkin Park
• Limp Bizkit
• The Deftones
• Mudvayne

Possibly the most memorable event on this tour was in Chicago. During a show, Limp Bizkit was being booed off stage. As a part of this, Fred Durst was hit in the genitala by a lemon thrown by a member of the crowd. Linkin Park was also met to a crowd against them, showing Chicago's dismay for rap metal.
