Sun Shangxiang

Sun Shangxiang()(184-?), was the youngest daughter of the Sun Jian. Her father was Sun Jian and her mother was Lady Wu. She had many brothers, but her two most recognized brothers were Sun Ce and Sun Quan. She had a close relationship with Sun Ce and Da Qiao, but she knew Sun Quan more because he didn't become leader of Wu until 201. She was said to be a very beautiful women, with long red-blonde hair and blue eyes, but yet a tomboy who always had fencing handmaidens outside her rice-paper chambers. When Ce died, her brother-in-law Zhou Yu and sister, Xiao Qiao came up with a secret marriage with Liu Bei. The marriage turned out to be love instead of a trap and the beautiful Sun Shangxiang left with him and Zhao Yun. She decided in 214 that she would take her empress title and her son, Liu Chan, back to Wu to tend to her mother. She was stopped, returned to Wu, and Liu Chan returned to Shu. After the battle of Yi Ling, Shangxiang found Liu Bei dead. She threw him in a river and later went into the river and drowned.
