Sun Yun-suan

Sun Yun-suan (Chinese: 孫運璿; pinyin: Sūn Yùnxuán) (born November 11, 1913), is a engineer and government official in the Republic of China on Taiwan.

Born in Shandong Province, Sun earned his BEE from the Harbin Polytechnic Institute in 1934. He held numerous engineering posts before joining the government as Minister of Communications in 1967. In 1969, he was transferred to become Minister of Economic Affairs and served until May 30, 1978 when he was promoted to Premier of the Republic of China. He served in that position until May 20, 1984 and has been has been a senior advisor to the President of the Republic of China since.
