SuperTux

SuperTux is a classic 2D jump and run game inspired by the Nintendo Super Mario series and created by Bill Kendrick .

Instead of Mario, the hero in this game is the Linux mascot Tux. Many of the in-game graphics were created by Ingo Ruhnke , creator of Pingus.

Version 0.0.4 of SuperTux was released in April 2003. Thanks to interest generated by happypenguin.org's Game of the Month award in March 2004, SuperTux reached its first milestone, an entire playable world with gameplay similar to Super Mario Bros., on May 2nd 2004.

SuperTux runs on Linux, Windows, and Mac OS X. Ports to other platforms (FreeBSD, BeOS, etc.) are also available.

SuperTux is released under the GNU General Public License.
