Longest river which is from start to end in territory of Lithuania. Ends in river Neris at Jonava . Runs through cities of Anykščiai , Kavarskas and Ukmergė in territories of Utena County, Vilnius County and Kaunas County. Dam is built at Kavarskas to use water from Šventoji to replenish Nevėžis river, which runs relatively nearby at that place, and which water is used for industrious needs. Word "Šventoji" means "Saint" (feminine gender) in Lithuanian.
