Svetlahorsk

Svetlahorsk (Belarusian: Сьветлаго́рск; Russian: Светлого́рск, also transliterated as Svetlogorsk) is a city in Homyel voblast, Belarus. It is located by river Berezina. Before the 1961 - a village Shatsilki . A railroad station on the Zhlobin-Kalinkavichy railway. About 60 000 inhabitants.

Industry: Vasilevichskaya power plant, chemicals man-made fiber plant, reinforced concrete industrial complex, some oil producing industry, pulp and paper milk, butter-making factory, bakery. An industrial colledge.

Sights: an orthodox church and a cathedral; a catholic cathedral, a quay, a museum of local lore.
