Swat (Pakistan)

For other uses, see Swat.

Swat is a former state in the northwest frontier province of Pakistan. It has for centuries been a home to yousafzai, a tribe of the pakhtun. As explained by Sir Olaf, the northern areas of the province were settled by the hard speaking dialect, compared to those living in the south, who are known as pashtun.
