Swedish School of Economics and Business Administration

The Swedish School of Economics and Business Administration, also known as Hanken, is a Swedish language business university located in Helsinki, Finland. The school was originally founded in 1909, and expanded in 1980 by adding a campus in Vaasa.

There are approximately 2,400 students enrolled in degree programs, of which 500 study in Vaasa. 200 students are currently taking part of the doctoral program. Teaching and research staff amounts to about 170.

Hanken currently offers Doctor, Master and Bachelor of Science degrees, along with a Master of Business Administration program.

Most classes are being taught in Swedish, but the number of classes taught in English is growing. The European credit transfer system is used, to facilitate easy transfers. The university received the AQUIS accreditation in 2000.

The Student Union operates at both campuses and organizes a variety of events.
