Mehmet Talaat Pasha

(Redirected from Talat Paşa)

Mehmet Talaat "Pasha" (1874-1921)

One of the three "Pasha"s who participated in the Armenian Genocide. Talaat was the Grand Vizier of the Ottoman Empire, serving Sultan Abdul Hamid II. Basically the mastermind of the Genocide, along with the other "Pasha"s. Resigned from his position in 1918 when the Allies forced unconditional surrender of the Ottomans, right before the occupation of Constantinople. He and the other "Pasha"s fled to Berlin, where he was assassinated by an Armenian on the Ides of March 1921
