Texas Wesleyan University is a private college located in the southeast part of Fort Worth, Texas. The university opened in 1891. The college became a woman's university in 1914 but was forced to become coeducational in 1934 due to financial problems from the Great Depression. The school is affiliated with the United Methodist Church and is located in Fort Worth's Stop Six neighborhood.
