The Mystery of the Blue Train is a Hercule Poirot mystery novel by Agatha Christie, first published in 1928. The mystery begins with the murder of Ruth Kettering by blunt force trauma on board the luxurious Blue Train and the theft of her priceless rubies, discovered when the train arrives at Nice.
