Washington Star

The Washington Star was a daily newspaper published in Washington, D.C.. It was first published by Captain Joseph Borrows Tate as The Daily Evening Star on December 16, 1852. In the 1970s it fell on hard times and was bought by Time Inc. and Joseph L. Albritton . It ceased publication on August 7, 1981.

For many years, the Star was the home of columnist Mary McGrory.
