Tindersticks is the name of an alternative rock band

History

The band formed officially in late 1991 out of a band called The Asphalt Ribbons and started releasing demo-tapes in 1992, before they were signed by Tippy Toe Records for the first single "patchwork".

  • Stuart A. Staples, born 14 November 1965 - lead vocals, guitar;
  • Dickon Hinchliffe, born 9 July 1967 - violin, guitar, vocals; Hinchliffe has a Ph.D. in Mexican Literature;
  • Neil Fraser - born 22 November 1962 - guitar;
  • David Boulter, born 27 February 1965 - keyboards, percussion;
  • Alasdair De Villeneuve Macaulay, born 2 August 1965 - drums, percussion;
  • Mark Colwill, born 12 May 1960 -bass guitar.
