Trbovlje Chimney

Trbovlje Chimney (Slovene: Trboveljski dimnik) is largest chimney in Europe. The 360 m high chimney of a coal power plant on the shore of river Sava near Trbovlje, Slovenia, was built in 1976 to prevent pollution of Trbovlje and other towns in valleys of Zasavje region. Indeed the pollution of Zasavje region with SO2 and other gases decreased dramatically, as they now spread over a much larger region in Central Slovenia.
