The Universidad Nacional de Cordoba is the second oldest university in South America, being founded in 1613. It is the oldest in Argentina, and is located in Cordoba, the capital of the central province by the same name. Its long history provide for it being an important national focus of influence, not only cultural and scientific, but also social and political.
