The University Hasselt (the former LUC) is a university with campuses in Hasselt and Diepenbeek, Belgium. It was founded in 1971.
The university consists of 3 faculties:
- The faculty of Sciences (where you can study maths, physics, IT, biology and chemistry);
- The faculty of Applied Economics (where you can study economics and commercial engineer )
- The faculty of Medicine (where you can study medicine and biomedical sciences).
- There is also the possibility to learn "transport studieses".
The rector of the university currently is prof. dr. Luc de Schepper, the vice-rector is prof. dr. Mieke Van Haegendoren.
University Hasselt-Maastricht
In the future it is possible that the Universities of Hasselt and Maastricht will become one university; University Hasselt-Maastricht
Location
The University Hasselt is located in Diepenbeek (a small town near Hasselt) but is expanding towards Hasselt, the capital of Limburg.
