University Scholars Programme

The University Scholars Programme or USP is an initiative by the National University of Singapore to encourage its undergraduate students to develop a more creative, intellectually-challenged, and interdisciplinary frame of mind. The four year programme introduces the students to a very different learning environment where the classes are much smaller and greater emphasis is made on consultative and interactive modes of learning. The classes that are available for the programme are exclusive to the students in the programme alone and encompass multidisciplinary areas of interest that will not normally be available under the normal programme requirements of the various majors from the various faculties in the school. In addition, the programme also invites the students to be involved in several Independent Study Modules (ISMs) which will commonly involve a certain level of research and development. To further encourage the envisioned conducive learning environment, the programme's administration regularly organize certain events of intellectual interest such as seminars, forums, talks, lectures and visits.
