Vlaamse Televisie Maatschappij

(Redirected from VTM)

VTM or Vlaamse Televisie Maatschappij is the main commercial television station in Flanders, the Dutch-speaking north of Belgium.

It went live in 1989 and quickly became the market leader. It can only be received on cable in Flanders.

VMMa, or Vlaamse Media Maatschappij, is the mother company which also operates the TV channels Kanaal Twee and JIMtv. Next to that they operate the radio channel Q-music. Recently they bought the Flemish part Canal Plus from Telenet.

As of 2004, VTM has lost its market dominance back to the public broadcaster VRT.
