Virton is a municipality located in the Belgian province of Luxembourg. On January 1st, 2004 Virton had a total population of 11,118 (5,369 males and 5,749 females). The total area is 94.49 km² which gives a population density of 117.66 inhabitants per km². Virton is the capital of the small region called Gaume (well known for its microclimate).
