Vladimir Bakarić (8 March 1912-16 January 1983) was Chairman of the Croatian League of Communists from 1948 to 1969. He helped organize Partisan resistance in Croatia during World War II. He later held high government and party posts in Croatia, and as such was a close colaborator of President Josip Broz Tito.
