Yfrah Neaman was a violinist. He was born in Lebanon on February 13, 1923 to Jewish parents from Palestine. He studied in Paris, then settled in London. He taught at the Guildhall School of Music and was artistic director of the Carl Flesch Competition . He gave the first performances in Britain of the violin concertos of Walter Piston (1952) and Roberto Gerhard (1955).
He was awarded the Order of the British Empire in 1983. He died in London on January 4, 2003.
