Zombie Powder

Zombie Powder is an unfinished manga, the first work of Tite Kubo. It ran a short 27 chapters (later compiled into 4 tankobon) in Shonen Jump before cancellation of the series. Notably, the author was in a state of severe emotional trauma when he wrote it (which the author admits to in the cover leaf of the third tankobon), and may have contributed to the cancellation. His current project, Bleach, has proven to be extremely popular.

The protagonist, a man named Akutabi Gamma, is searching for the Zombie Powder, a legendary drug that can raise the dead or make the living immortal. Gamma fights with a chainsword , and has metal plating all over his right hand and arm that he uses to catch bullets. The other main characters are:

  • John Elwood Sheperd: A 13-year-old pickpocket.
  • C.T. Smith: A crack-shot gunman who dresses like a London banker.
  • Wolfgangina Lalla Getto: A female journalist with a 101-cm h-cup bust.

The manga has a futuristic-western setting, similar to Trigun, and an incredibly bizarre and inventive array of characters.
